Hitler As Hitler
a: Hitler ~
b: Hitler
What: There is NO Analogy in contemporary politics or possibly in the history of the world. He was an old world crazy with modern weapons and an effective organization. The only leader who comes even close is Stalin. But their styles were so different it's difficult to make a valid comparison. The British historian Allan Bullock gave it a go in the linked book.

A-line In The Sky
a: Western civilization ~
b: a plane on auto-pilot
What: "At present western civilization is like an aircraft on auto-pilot, its moral course fixed in the Christian era, with nobody understanding where the navigational settings came from or how to adjust them, and fast running out of fuel. Despite his valuable scientific contributions, Galton's blindness to the needs of both political and moral order surely contributed to this unhappy state of affairs."

METAMIA is a free database of analogy
and metaphor. Anyone can contribute or search.
The subject matter can be anything.
Science is popular, but poetry is encouraged.
The goal is to integrate our fluid muses with
the stark literalism of a relational database.
Metamia is like a girdle for your muses,
a cognitive girdle.
